I love this book

December 22, 2014

I love this book,it provides deep insight into the nature of time, the soul,the"ONE"-it is very thourough, very scientific yet put into terms that anyone who focuses can grasp...many"aha!" moments. This is also a tribute to one of the world's most brilliant sages, born in Spain, who has produced so many of "the greatest" philosophers, like the Spanish Roman,Seneca, the greatest philosopher in his time, as well as the Spanish Romn Emperor Trajan who brought Rome to it's greatest, highest pinnacle of glory. Maimonides,Cordovero were also the great Spanish Jewish thinkers ...the Zohar, the Kabbalah was formalized into it's form also here,in this period of Spain's history, where Christians,Muslims and Jews lived together in relative peace. Ibn Al Arabi here in this book explains the nature of time in a way that only now, science is revealing by it's methods! If you have the time and the interest, this is a book you'll definitely want to have!

Unique view of time

February 6, 2019

Ibn Arabi has a unique and comprehensive view of time. The book discusses physics theories and models of the cosmos and a description of the authors cosmos in detail. Which leads to the authors concept of time and days, building throughout the book. The book requires concentration, but is well written. It is also a very interesting topic. Enjoy it, I did.

Good Book on Interesting Subjects

July 20, 2018

It's a pretty good book that covers a lot of ground. In addition to Ibn Arabi's ideas about time, there is a lot of cultural background including Ibn Arabi's vast contributions to the world. The author seems to be a very good person.

It took me a bit to get through but it was worth it!

February 10, 2019

This was a pretty heavy read with a lot of information to process. I had to take a few breaks to process and fully grasp the information that was given. But I feel like a gained a lot of knowledge about time, the cosmos and creation. The author has obviously spent a lot of time studying and gathering information and he spent even more time organizing all the information he has gathered and putting it together in an easier to grasp manner for those of us who love to learn but are no where near as scientifically minded as he is! I really enjoyed learning all the concepts that he shared. I’m curious to read more from him, I’m sure he has a lot more to teach me!

A Worthy Look at Time and cosmos

February 18, 2019

As I get older and feel that time is passing faster and faster, I enjoy books that discuss concepts about time, so “The Single Monad Model of the Cosmos: Ibn Arabi's Concept of Time and Creation” by Mohammed Haj Yousef grabbed my attention right away.

I found the writing of the preface a bit dry, but luckily, I didn’t let that stop me. The author’s style was very accessible. In fact, the material was organized in such a way that non-scientists and non-philosophers could learn a lot despite not having been trained in the areas covered.

Highly recommended.

An Insightful and Fascinating Book

February 8, 2019

The Single Monad Model of the Cosmos is an in-depth look at the work of Ibn Arabi. Author Mohamad Haj Yousef packs into the book a great deal of information about Arabi and his work in the cosmos, creation, time... The book is a dense read in the amount of material collected as well as the dense subject matter, but Yousef's writing style in the book and the way he organized it give the material an accessibility. I especially appreciated the time he spent at the beginning of the book with the introduction, preface, and abbreviation section that really explain what to expect from the book and how it is organized. I found this book to be a fascinating read and felt that I learned a great deal. If you are interested in the cosmos or learning about how early science affects present-day discoveries, then you should definitely give this book a read.

As a result of the original divine manifestation, all kinds of motions are driven by Love and Passion. Who could possibly not instantly fall in love with this perfect and most beautiful harmony! Beauty is desirable for its own essence, and if the Exalted (Real) did not manifest in the form of beauty, the World would not have appeared out into existence.
