IBPSA-UAE Chapter participates in the 2nd Ajman International Environment Conference
IBPSA-UAE Chapter participated in the 2nd Ajman International Environment Conference that was held from 4-6 June 2012 in Sheikh Zayed Centre for Conferences and Exhibitions of Ajman University of Sciences and Technology (AUST) Campus, Ajman, United Arab Emirates (UAE). IBPSA-UAE Chair Prof. Al-Sallal and IBPSA student members presented a paper of how to “design a sustainable house in Abu Dhabi, UAE”, showing design strategies reinforced by using building simulation software. This topic was quite essential due to the new green legislation in the UAE and lack of building science experts among current consultants and contractors. After the presentation, they participated in a panel discussion and elaborated more on recent developments in building simulation software and tools.
The theme of Ajman 2nd International Environment Conference was devoted to “An innovative approach to Sustainability”. This focuses on the concept of Environment Protection and Sustainable Development as each organization has to run its business in a sustainable manner irrespective of market diversities to ensure that the goals of Sustainable Development are met. The main goal of this conference was to bring together decision makers, regulators, private sector, professionals, youth and ideas, to implement the most innovative and practical solutions for common challenges facing sustainable development. This major conference included an exhibition and workshops. Moreover, IBPSA-UAE Chapter leaflets were distributed in the conference exhibition in order to reach more participants and members.
