Dr. M. M. Yagoub graduated from the Department of Surveying Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, University of Khartoum in

 1991 and obtained his PhD from the College of Geoinformation Sciences at the University Technology Malaysia in 1999.

 In 2007, he promoted to associate professor and achieved the Teaching Faculty Recognition Award bestowed by H.H. Sheik Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan,

UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He worked at the University of Khartoum, Tongji University in Shanghai, the International Islamic

University in Malaysia, and currently at the UAE University.  He established and directed the Master Program of Remote Sensing and GIS at the UAE University

between 2002 and 2005 and worked as the Chairman of the Geography Department between 2005 and 2007.

He teaches various geoinformation courses such as Surveying Engineering, Cartography, Computer Cartography, Remote Sensing, Digital Image Processing,

GIS, and Environmental Applications of Remote Sensing and GIS (Urban Planning, Petroleum, Coastal, Health).  His research interest is in education and

application of remote sensing and GIS. He published and presented more than 20 papers in international journals, local, and international conferences.

 Examples of his work involved using GIS for wind energy, camels, petroleum, urban monitoring, virtual reality, and multimedia.
